The biggest baby shower ever......well, it actually is a big event for babies. We went to the Iowa State Fairgrounds. When we walked in we registered for door prizes....we didn't win anything, in case you were wondering. Then we decided to start at the back of the building and work our way forward. We entered Isla into a cutest baby contest. Well, it is a photography place that is giving away a free session. The voting begins March 1st and goes thru the 15th. We bought girl scout cookies (by the way possibly the best idea who ever had to be there). Then we found some new stores that had booths and items to look at. Over all.....not really big, but it was nice to have something to do.

Isla's First Valentine's Day
Isla has had a great Valentine's Week! We have had a great time with Valentine Themed outfits this Week....to bad I forgot to take pictures, I will remember tomorrow (actual Valentines Day). I did give Isla her Valentine gift early (popcorn puffs). We also gave Dad his present early too! Isla picked his gift out and wouldn't let it go in the store....so we had to purchase it. You will never guess.....a tie! But not just any tie......it is a silky red tie with white hearts on it.
Tomorrow Isla will have her Valentine party at daycare! I am so excited about her goodies to her friends. Bubbles!! " Blowing kisses your way"
( picture goes here)
I am also excited about the Valentines for the Grandparents! " I love you to the moon and back....butt, I would love it if you would be my Valentine." It is a picture of her butt print.
(Pictures here)
My husband said he has the most creative wife. I can't take credit for this genius card. My girlfriend from Kentucky , Jeramie, told me about it. I thought it was wonderful. SomethimgI would totally do, and we wouldn't be able to do this any other year with her. And something less normal , rather thanthe hand and footprints, that most "art" craft things are.
I will continue this after Valentines Day.....

Let the party planning begin...
IT may seem a little early to begin planning for Isla's first birthday (it is in just shy of 3 1/2 months), but I have been working on what to do for a month now. What do I want her first birthday theme to be? I have decided cupcakes :) And I have found the perfect plates, napkins, invitations, etc.
What is the protocol for inviting people, who I should invite? I have no idea!!!!!
Now to order the paper ware, decorations, etc.....of course I did not care for any of the things at any party store around us.....and trust me, I took Maceo and Isla to them all! And then also, get the items from the stores that I am not going to order online.
I need to place the order for the cupcakes...I am thinking Bekkwith's Cupcakery. It is where we had her shower cupcakes from. Plus, I did see they do make cakes too! But, I am thinking cupcakes. Or, HyVee who did the cupcakes for Maceo and My reception after we were married. HyVee will do a free smash cake for children's first birthdays.
Then, I need to think ....where are we going to hold the party? At home? At a park? What the weather will be like? What time should we have it at? What should we serve? What should we have as drinks?
If I could figure out some of those questions, I could begin getting some things here and there...so that it doesn't seem so costly....not that it has too, but for my babies I would do anything.
Well, the first items have been ordered and should arrive to our home this Friday (Valentine's Day). I am very excited to get this ball rolling.
2 weeks later and many cupcakes tried... February 25- We have decided to go with cupcakes that one of my co-workers makes...they are amazing!!! Now to decide how many we need.....
Things are coming together nicely :)

Isla and her foods
Isla has been a trooper with getting so big!
With that, at 8 1/2 months we have began to transition to whole milk. I am happy to report we didn't have trouble with that. We also have been feeding her "real" food that she munches on with her 2 teeth. Rather than the pureed foods that we have purchased she just wasn't getting full. She has always enjoyed eating cereal (she always wanted it thick, she never cared for it when it was "watered"down).
She loves:
Green beans
sweet potatoes
Mandarin oranges
Pineapple tidbits
Biscuits
Ham dices
......and pretty much anything she can get her hands on!!
