Hand Foot Mouth

Yesterday, Isla and I stayed home because Isla had a fever the whole night and didn't sleep.  Well, when she woke up from the am nap I noticed these small spots around her mouth.  I knew what we were looking at.....HAND FOOT AND MOUTH!!!!!! Crap! The only thing you can do is give some over the counter meds and cold things to eat and drink.  My poor baby, I don't wish this upon anyone.  But, I knew this was coming.....Isla's room at daycare had it going around....and no matter how well they pay attention to paci's Isla is a pro at taking the other children's.

Today, we are home again.  More sleep was had and hopefully we can get back to our normal schedules.

Hand, foot and mouth disease (coxsackie virus) – this is by far the most common cause of mouth sores. It usually affects children ages 6 months to 3 years. Symptoms include:
  • High fever – often up to five days.
  • Severe fussiness – this is often the worst part of the illness.
  • Severe mouth pain or sore throat
  • Copious drooling
  • Refusal to eat or even drink
  • Rash – small, red or white spots may, but not always, appear on the hands or feet (thus the name of the illness). A red, lacy rash can also appear anywhere on the body

As found on askdrsears.com

Isla had all of these!!!!  We were home a total of 3 days.  I love my time with Isla, but I wish she felt better.

Rhea Lana weekend

Wow, I completely forgot to write about our weekend, now 2 weekends ago! Jody, Isla, and I had a girls day shopping.  We started off at Once Upon a Child where we found lots of goodies, stopped at Buy Buy Baby found some more goodies.  Picked up her 10 month photos from JC Penneys. Then ate lunch at Okoboji Grill. When we were done it was time to head to Rhea Lana's a consignment that happens 2 times a year. We scored awesomely, and found everything fairly fast.  We did have to wait about an hour in line to check out .  Isla was very entertaining pushing our basket, but was easily annoyed when we were supposed to wait because the line had stopped.

Easter is coming!

Happy Easter, even though it is next Sunday and we will be celebrating with family the Sunday after that. Still, I am so excited for more experiences for Isla!  We are planning on meeting up with the Easter Bunny today.  Now that Isla can walk, let's hope she isn't running away from us.  She is quite the mover.

Well, we made it to see the Easter Bunny. We went to Bass Pro Shop. ISLA LOVED THE EASTER BUNNY!!!!! Ok, she really didn't, but none the less adorable!
