Elf on the Shelf 2013

There was a special visitor who appeared in Isla's crib this morning. Waiting there was an elf sleeping from a long trip to our house from the North Pole.  She had a note from Santa and a Book that tells what she is all about.   The first thing on the agenda was to name her. Maceo and I wrote down all the "Christmas-themed" Names we could think of.  We put all the names in a bowl and set the bowl in front of Isla. It was a long process but she grabbed a name-Mom quickly snatched it from her grasp. "Sparkle" was the name she chose.  VERY Fitting with the sparkly skirt she adorned. We will have to see what she brings in the month to come! So Exciting....

Thanksgiving

We had a great time at the Anderson's for Thanksgiving.  Hosted by Great Grandma Anderson.  We had almost everyone show up....except for the people that actually got the ball going on having the whole family together.  We were just a little disappointed by that, but it was nice to have family together for the holidays.  Isla had TURKEY, SWEET POTATOES and WHOLE GRAINS-it was a Gerber 2 Food, along with here rice and oatmeal cereal.  She also ate some of Mom's potatoes and Squash and LOVED IT (Not that I didn't think she would).

Afterwards, we went around to check out some "AFTER" Thanksgiving sales-Surprisingly K-mart has some great stuff!  We found a Holiday Dress (haven't decided if it will be Christmas or NewYears).  We also tried Wal-mart, but decided that the one thing that we found wasn't worth waiting in line for 2 hours. So we went home.

Happy 6 months!!!

What an adventure the last 6 months have been.  I feel blessed everyday Isla is with us and making us smile.

Today is her "official" 6 month.  She had a rough night at home and day at daycare.  We had to go pick her up early because of a 101.5 temperature.  She wasn't acting like her self all day either.  I am hoping all it is-is teething....but just to be on the safe side. We have an 8:45 appointment tomorrow morning.

I will continue working on this.....

Well, it is the next day.  I had to call to cancel her 8:45 am appointment because we had taken her to the ER.  her 101.5 temp even after acetaminophen her temperature rose to 103.2.  I let Maceo know we needed to head to the Hospital.  I tried to call the phone number that was listed for the hospital that we were headed too to make sure we were doing the right thing-I was transferred to another department and the lady asked all this information then after 15 minutes she still is indecisive (we were on our way to the hospital anyway-but if we weren't I WOULD HAVE BEEN PISSED that we just wasted this time that we could have been headed to the hospital.

The temperature is unknown, but we have been doing the right thing with the acetaminophen-but found out we could give her more medication than what we were giving because she is bigger than before (obviously), but we were only told to give x amount so we didn't want to over medicate.

We stayed home today.  We tried to rest, FAILED, but we tried.  I have a feeling that we will be having a long week....

We have been battling this sickness.  I can not wait for our baby to be better.

Playing Catch Up...

Ahhhhh....we are finally on the same schedules for our whole family.

Mom's Last day at Everts was yesterday.  Sad day I only cried once.  Isla had a day with Grandma Hamer and they met me for lunch.  :)  We closed at 5 but still had people walking in around 5:30.  I was extremely glad when Brian (the boss) said we closed at 5, we do re-open tomorrow at 12:00.  I was able to get Isla from the Hamer's and get home close to 7pm.

Now the fun comes on playing catch up for all the days we haven't done housework.  We figure if we just work on one room at a time we will get there.  And we have and only have been working for a few hours.  WOW, when you don't have the same schedule and you have 6 day work weeks...the house can sure take over.  This would NEVER have happened before....I was a slight bit of a NEAT FREAK!!!  But, now we can get back to that...maybe a little more relaxed...but back to that.

Well, enough of me talking about catching up I really have to get back to work!

Oh MY the Changes...

Well, I can't believe the time has flown like it has...well, actually I can....

I started a new job 2 weeks ago.  I am now a Senior 2 teacher at Generation Next.  I LOVE IT!!!

http://www.generationnextia.com/

I still am currently working at my previous job Everts Flowers Home & Gifts, for the next couple of weeks too...So 6 day weeks (luckily only 3) for me working until the 16th.

Maceo will be starting a new job come next week.  Now we will all be on the same schedule again.  I can not express how excited I am to have that happen.

Isla is now in daycare 5 days a week.

We are excited though with the new jobs come better hours for our family to be together.  And perks!

I can't even think of everything I wanted to say.  But just to say for now.....if you don't hear anything from us on here in a little while, we aren't lazy....JUST REALLY BUSY!!!
