We have decided that every year we are going to the pumpkin patch. The pumpkin patch is just outside of Ankeny. It was a little chilly today, but it was fun. It is going to be an annual treat for not only ourselves but for our children. This year we had some great pictures with Isla and some pumpkins.

Going to the Apple Orchard
We spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa Hamer's house the night before we left for the apple orchard. We figured Mom would be able to get a little more sleep (HA!!! Boy was she mistaken...) Isla was UP ALL NIGHT! Poor little girl was teething hard!!
As follows here are we eating our cereal in MOM's old high chair!! WOW that's an old chair!
Then Mom decided we should sit our little pumpkin with all the other pumpkins that were in a circle. Isn't she cute!!!
Gerber Baby 2013??
So Gerber is having a contest about Gerber Baby 2013. I figured what the heck lets get Isla in the running. The voting begins November 4th. About 15 days from NOW. I need to remember to have people vote. I think it would be so AWESOME if she would win. She would have a commercial and win some money that we could put towards her education.
Here is her entry picture and her entry ID is 145546 . This was a picture that we had taken and I had posted to Facebook and people were commenting that she was a Gerber Baby. So, with the contest why not right?
Helping Dad at the Computer
Isla loves to sit with Dad while he is at the computer and on October 6th Dad let her type a letter,
here it is...
(Yes Isla even wrote the Title)

Of course not everyone cares but we think it is absolutely adorable...She was so intensely focused
on writing the letter. What a sweetheart!

Family Crafts
I was so happy when Maceo decided to do this with me, Isla had no choice...sorry little girl but you didn't. I had a small canvas from when I used to paint for fun. I had Maceo use his LEFT hand because he is Left handed and I with my RIGHT...because I am Right handed. With Brown paint to make a heart in the open area between our hands. Because the canvas is an Ivory tone we will do Isla's FOOT print in a Red. That way it will still fit the color scheme of Miss Isla's room. Maybe we will do both Foot prints...We will see...

Changing rooms
It was a sad evening Thursday night after picking up Isla at daycare. We had a note in her cubbie. It was a note saying that Starting the week of October 21st. Isla would be starting in the Infant Room 1. I almost cried when I got into the van. I was not sure I wanted her to change rooms. I love her teachers-Not that I think others won't be just as good...I just couldn't wrap my head around having a big girl. Well, that and I didn't think they changed rooms except with the school year. I can under stand though she is doing so great with all the tricks-and I am sure they need to make room for the "new" kids. But we will miss her teachers.
Maybe I can convince her teachers to move up classes with her...you think?? Well it was worth a shot I mean thought
Beginning Solid Foods....
We have been enjoying this "getting bigger" stage of things. Widening our horizon to "solid" foods.
We began our adventure with RICE CEREAL!!!! Isla LOVED it. She really didn't know what to think of it the first couple of days. But we found her favorite consistency, which was surprisingly not liquidy. It was a thicker consistency than we thought a 4 month old would like--especially since her diet so far has been strictly milk!
After a week of that at home. We added GREEN BEANS!!! What would you expect from a 4 month old......is not what we got from her. SHE LOVED IT TOO!!!! We have decided to try things for a week before adding something into the food menu.
I am excited for next week too! BANANAS!!!!!
With the new additions to the food menu, has also meant our diaper menu has changed. EEEEUUUWWWWW!!!! STINKY!!!
