We had a great party yesterday with family. And had pictures taken today with some nice loving and relaxing together today with just Maceo, Isla and Myself.
For her First Birthday Party we had just invited immediate family, including Aunts/Uncles, Grandparents and Great-Grandparents. I was trying to keep it a little low key. She is doing better with "Stranger Danger" but still we didn't want to traumatize her with SOOOO many people. We had a cupcake themed party. It was perfect!!!
We started the party off with just some bonding, then we had some great grilled food (brats and hotdogs) with chips, potato salad, coleslaw, and fruit salad. Then we had pop and water to drink. By the time everyone was done Maceo and I didn't really know what to do first if we should do presents or smash cake first. We decided we would do the smash cake first so that when Isla was opening presents everyone else could eat some cake (well, cupcakes).
As we were opening her presents I think the moment that I will FOREVER remember is when we opened the quilt Great-Grandma Hamer made for her. Is when Isla came and sat on it and then leaned back as she was in love with it. Great-Grandma Hamer began to cry. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!
When we finished with the party we all looked at eachother and we were POOPED!!! As you can tell we had a BLAST! And Isla is loved beyond loved!!
But we wanted to take out the new forward facing car seat for a spin so we went to rent some movies. What a big girl!!!!
